The fact that estrogen is in the water made me worry for myself and others. I really wanted to know where it came from and I had my initial feelings and assumptions, but they were incorrect. I felt a large amount of what we intake was due to the pill, but it turns out that less than one percent of what we drink is from the pill. of course a large amount is coming in from animal sources. I am still worried for other creatures that drink our water, but haven't things been like this for a long time?

Estrogen!? Now us guys are going to start having feelings. No but really, excess hormones can cause imbalances in our bodies and affect us in many ways. Imbalances or excessive amounts of certain hormones can cause problems in pregnancies and overall health.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised that so much of the estrogen in water comes from animals and soy/dairy products. It doesn't seem like there is a much greater use of these now than in the past, so I am not sure why estrogen levels are so high. Maybe we are just starting to see the effects of estrogen and starting to see a problem that has been around longer than we thought.
ReplyDeleteI think that a lot of the animals that would be affected have such short life spans that the concentrating may not effect them as much.
